THE RAPTURE .... What is it and why should I take notice?

The event, known as the Rapture, could occur at any moment - today, next week, in a few months time ... one thing is sure, it will undoubtedly take place.   There is no prophecy that needs to be fulfilled prior to this particular event. 

Nobody knows the day or the hour, except the God the Father, BUT we can tell the seasons (as per God's Word).

What is the Rapture?

Also known as “a mystery” or “the Blessed Hope”, the Rapture is the catching away of all those people who have put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their own Lord and Saviour.

This is the moment when, in the twinkling of an eye ... “ the Lord Himself will come down from Heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves.  Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever". (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

Is the Rapture a Secret Event?

Although there have been people over many years trying to discredit the pre-Tribulation rapture of the Church, it will by no means be secret, just sudden!

Imagine, if you will, the impact the disappearance of millions from this earth, in one single moment, will have on those left behind.    Millions of conversations halted mid-sentence;  husbands or wives finding their partner has vanished;  driverless cars and trucks;  consider the impact on passengers using the many means of transport, public and private, with some Christian pilots and drivers, etc, disappearing mid-journey .. strange but absolutely true and Scriptural and ... it could happen any time!

What happens to those left behind?

If the world thinks it has seen tribulation, it has no idea of what still lies ahead.  Following the rapture, the Tribulation period will eclipse the worst events in history.   The Bible teaches us very clearly that the Tribulation will last for 7 years. The last 3 and a half years of which is known as the Great Tribulation.

There is already such chaos in the world.   It will get a lot worse.   In fact one can see a possible headline in Newspapers and on TV Screens, Androids and iPhones, etc ...

Here is  a very brief outline of some of the events that will follow the Rapture of the Church (those who know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour):

• A world leader will make/confirm a seven-year agreement (covenant) with Israel (Daniel 9:27).  This world leader is the Antichrist.

• After three and a half years he, the Antichrist, will break that covenant.  He then sets up his image in the temple in Jerusalem (where he would have moved) and begins to control the world.  
  
  
• He, the Antichrist, forces everyone to worship and obey him.  He will also cause all to receive a mark in his/her forehead or right hand.  Without this mark no one will be able to buy or sell - the 666 (mark of the beast) system (Revelation 13).  The Bible says that anyone who takes this mark will have the wrath of God poured out on them for ever.   NEVER take that mark!    (I will be speaking about the Mark of the Beast - 666 - in more detail in one of my next blogs)

• At Armageddon the nations gather in order to fight the Antichrist & Israel, BUT .... they see the sign of Christ’s coming and unite to fight Him (Zechariah 12; Revelation 13:13-14 & 19:11); Jesus returns to the earth.  His enemies are defeated & He is received by the Jews. 
  
  
• The Lord Jesus, the Messiah, now establishes His kingdom on earth where He will reign for a 1,000 years - the millennial reign of Christ (Rev 19:11; Zech.12:7-13:1 & Rev 20:1-5) followed by the Great White Throne Judgment (Rev 20:11-15).

You don’t have to be left behind ...

Only those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour will be ready.  To be left behind or to die without knowing Him as Saviour, is too horrific to contemplate.
